Well, in an interview with a leading news agency, Ali revealed that the film is a tribute to PM Narendra Modi. The director said,
If you have noticed, during the rescue mission in Tiger Zinda Hai, Paresh Rawal asks Tiger (Salman Khan) if ‘PM sahab’ is aware of the mission. The original dialogue in the film was ‘Modi Ji Ko Pata Hai?’ as a tribute to him and the mission. However, since the entire film is a work of fiction, the censor board rightfully asked us to change it to ‘PM sahab’. We respected their accurate decision as we were not retelling the exact details of the rescue mission.
Well, that’s quite an interesting revelation.
The film is a sequel to Kabir Khan’s 2012 superhit Ek Tha Tiger. In the sequel, Ali showed Salman and Kat’s character Tiger and Zoya married. About why he showed them married, Ali had said,
In the sequel, we were very clear that we present Tiger and Zoya as a family and to choose their duty over family. Anyone whose heart is in the right place would do the same to stand up for their country and people and that forms the crux of the film’s plot. The idea is to rise above their everyday life for the larger cause – that of humanity. When you see Tiger and Zoya as a family, the ability to relate to these characters increase, which is evident in the great response that Tiger Zinda Hai has gotten so far. Also, by them choosing their country and choosing to save lives they are imparting outstanding values to their child. It is the duty of everyone to tell their children that they should always stand for humanity, for peace
