photo series ‘With and Without’, Sophia Vogel, a photographer from Germany, asked her subjects their hobbies. When they said stuff like “listening to music” or “playing with my cat”, she asked them to perform these regular tasks and then do them again without any clothes. She clicks pictures both ways and then presents them side by side for comparison.
“I want to point out that being naked should feel just as natural as being clothed,” she told Creators. “If you think of it right, we are all naked underneath our clothes.”
“By presenting all kinds of different body shapes and natural postures I would love to show that everybody is beautiful in their own way.”
Even though nudity is considered quite sexual in the society, her portraits have no sexual connotations whatsoever. She made regular people her subjects, who felt connected to Vogel’s project and reached out to her.
