The Indian Premier League (IPL) has completed 9 glorious years. Marking a decade of adrenaline-filled games, IPL 2017 is all set to commence on the 5th of April.
Apart from the reformed T20 matches that were introduced in the IPL, the league also witnessed the combination of glamour and sports for the very first time. Right from well-known personalities and Bollywood celebrities owning various IPL teams, to the introduction of cheerleaders; IPL became a trend-setter in the world of cricket.
But with the rising scandals, controversies and match-fixing, the Premier League made several changes under operation ‘Clean-Up’. The late-night parties that were a part of every IPL post-match until the year 2013, was banned forever.
The parties that witnessed the presence of several cheerleaders and celebrities from the glamour industry could no longer be a part of the series glamorous nights. As of now, post-match parties will just include get-togethers, with an entry allowed to just cricketers and team management.
