Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have been reigning supreme at the box office by earning huge bucks at the theatres over the past decade. However, it has been Akshay Kumar who has been the most bankable actor at the BO over the past few years. He ensures each of his film is a hit and the producers, distributors and exhibitors get their money back. And with Jolly LLB 2, he has created a new record that Salman, Aamir and Shah Rukh can never break! Yes, Akshay now has four films (Airlift, Housefull 3, Rustom and Jolly LLB 2) that have made Rs 100 crore in a span of a mere 13 months.
While Salman and Aamir have raked in huge amounts of money through their films like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Rs 210.16 crore), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 320.34 crore), Sultan (Rs 300.45 crore), PK (Rs 340.80 crore) and Dangal (Rs 387.12 crore), they haven’t ever had four Rs 100 crore films releasing in a span of 13 months. In fact, Salman and Aamir don’t have so many releases in a year, so obviously it is virtually impossible for them to achieve this. But Shah Rukh Khan who has had four releases from December 2015 to December 2016 (Dilwale, Fan, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Dear Zindagi) could not manage to achieve this feat too.
And with Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman restricting themselves to two or three films a year for 2017 and 2018, we are sure that they won’t be able to break this record anytime soon, if ever. In the meanwhile, Akshay is going to have four releases this year too, namely Jolly LLB 2, Naam Shabana, Toilet Ek Prem Katha and 2.0. And with this, he can make it 7 consecutive Rs 100 crore films over 24 months, which would be huge,
