The year has ended on a sad note, as Jayalalithaa, Tamil Nadu’s CM passed away on December 5 at 11:30pm. She had suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday, December 3 after which she was rushed to Apollo Hospital. The following morning, she had a surgery but her condition had remained grave and critical. Before she entered politics, she contributed largely to cinema across all industries. She has done 140 films across Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. Her first film at the age of 15 was a blockbuster,
post which there was no looking back.

We came across this old video of Jayalalithaa where she was being interviewed by Simi Garewal. She revealed how she had a crush on Shammi Kapoor even though she had never met him. Junglee was one her favorite films. She then went on to tell Simi the Bollywood songs she liked – Ae Malik Tere Bande Hum, Aaja Sanam Madhur Chandni mein Hum. It was then Simi got Jayalalithaa to sing! Well, the Iron Lady was a multi-faced inspiring personality. So eloquent and graceful in her speech. Jaya ji was also known to be a voracious reader.
