Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ has been in news since the time it was announced. It took 12 years for the filmmaker to get the movie made. After all this time, then movie did get made and it looks larger than life in the trailer. Be it the life size sets to the characters to the music of the film, everything about the film made it to the headlines. While the movie is yet to hit the screens, it has already been in several controversies.
Now, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has another trouble hovering over his dream project. The new person who taken objection on the Bhansali’s upcoming movie is actor, Bharat Dhabolkar. The actor, who was seen in ‘Company’ and ‘Corporate’ and currently acting in Ananth Mahadevan’s historical film, wrote a satirical piece on Facebook about Mahadevan’s working style. The post was also a dig against Bhansali for modifying Peshwa Bajirao’s love story as per his convenience. In his post, Dhabolkar picks on the utter disregard for historical accuracy, the bizarre misrepresentation of characters and for overlooking documented details because it did not suit the director’s Bollywood fantasy.
his is not the first time Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ has been under fire. Earlier, the song from the film ‘Pinga’ got into controversy and then Peshwa descendants posed a problem for the film makers. They said that the two wives- Kashibai and Mastani– had only met once their lives. Also, the dress they wore in the ‘Pinga’ was never donned by the Peshwa family and dancing was not a part of their culture.
