Ugly’ is last release of 2014 and next Anurag Kashyap film. Film was speculated to unharness in 2013 and when long delay, it’s set to released 26th Dec.
Film has rather complicated plot to start out with. there’s Shalini (Tejaswini Kolhapure) who may be a bourgeois homemaker forced to remain reception by her second husband, police-chief nuclear physicist Shoumik (Ronit Roy). She considers suicide, and is getting ready to shoot herself within the head together with her husband’s gun once she is interrupted by her female offspring, Kali (Anishika Shrivastava). Unaware of her mother’s activities moments earlier, Kali asks her mother to decision her alienated father, Shalini’s adult male, Rahul (Rahul Bhatt). It’s a Saturday, and Kali’s day together with her father as determined within the custody agreement from the divorce. Rahul, aspiring actor troubled to create it huge, involves take her for a drive however ignores her in favor of phone calls created to do to more his career.
Finally, Rahul leaves Kali alone within the automotive to travel to associate degree audition and to see in along with his agent, Chaitanya (Vineet Kumar Singh). Once he returns to the automotive, Kali is missing. Rahul 1st searches for Kali through the police, Chaitanya in tow. The native police-captain, Jadhav (Girish Kulkarni), doesn’t take Rahul seriously till he realizes that Kali is that the stepchild of the police-chief. Bose, out of hate for Rahul, orders Jadhav to accuse Rahul of the seizure and to torture each Rahul and Chaitanya to interrogate and penalise them. A game of practice follows as Rahul and nuclear physicist explore for Kali whereas at the same time trying to upstage the opposite.
Performance wise Ronit Roy once more impresses although he repeats himself from ‘Udaan’ and ‘2 States’. Tejaswini Kolhapure is mindblowing as class homemaker and Rahul Bhatt is natural to the core. Vineet Singh and Surveen Chawla ar good. remainder of the supporting solid is nice too.
Film has some real boring forcibly inserted sequences. piece of writing is uneven and photography is below par as each frame appearance dark. Background score/songs ar bromide and makes things worse. Story is nice however book lacks pace and depth. Dialogues are excellent. academic department and costume department are below par.
Director Anurag Kashyap delivers a movie that may had been nice with higher treatment and climax however still he delivers a motivating social drama that is supposed just for urban audience.
Film can unharness day when tomorrow and can get four hundred screens which can be apt for such film. Film has no possibilities at box workplace as Aamir Khan starrer ‘PK’ is making mayhem at box office.
