64th National Awards: Akshay Kumar Wins Best Actor, ‘Pink’ And ‘Neerja’ Sweep Top Honors

The 64th National Film Awards have been announced today. Every year, these awards focus on validating and appreciating the best of talent of the Movie Business. Directorate of Film Festivals of India present awards to the best films of 2016 in Indian Cinema. While the awards have been announced today, the official ceremony will take place on 3rd May. The awards will be given by the President of India.

Big B’s Pink, Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja and Dangal have managed to get some top honors. Here is the complete list of the awards.

Best Actress award goes to Surabhi for Minnaminungu
New Award introduced this year-Best Action Director award goes to Peter Hayne
Best Film goes to Marathi film Kaasav
Indira Gandhi Award for best debut film goes to Alifa
Best Film On Social Issue goes to Anirudha Roy Choudhary’s Pink
Best Children’s Film goes to Nagesh Kukunoor’s Dhanak.
Best Actor Award goes Akshay Kumar for Rustom
Best Supporting Actress award goes Zaira Wasim for Dangal
Best Female Playback Singer goes to Emaan Chakraborty for Tumi Jaake Bhalobasho from film Praktan.
Best re-recording award also to Priyanka Chopra produced Ventilator
Best constume desinger goes to Marathi film Cycle. And Best Production design award goes to Tamil film 24. Best Editing goes to marathi film Ventilator.
Special Jury Award has been given to Malayalam actor Mohanlal
Best Special Effects-Navin Paul gets award for Best Special Affects for Shivaay
Best Hindi Film goes to Neerja to Ram Madhvani and Best Bengali film goes Bisorjon directed by Kaushik Ganguly
Best Kannada film goes to Reservation
Best Marathi Film goes to Dashakriya
Best Gujarati Film goes to Wrong Side Raju
Best Tamil Film Goes to Joker directed by Raju Murugan
