MNS, after many requests from the Bollywood fraternity, has allowed the release of movies (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Dear Zindagi) that have Pakistani talents. But, it doesn’t mean that party has eased its stand on the issue. The party still demands that no artist will enter India from the neighbouring country. However, during the trailer launch of Raees, co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani was quoted as saying that Mahira could be brought back to India for promotions as there is no governmental restriction on the same. It was also reported that SRK agreed with Ritesh’s view.
Ever since then, speculations were rife that MNS is planning a massive protest against the makers of Raees, including SRK and the party will not let the movie release.
To lighten up the situation, Khan reportedly visited Thackeray’s residence to promise that Mahira will not enter India. He also ensured Thackeray during an hour-long meeting that he won’t cast any Pakistani artistes in future.
Amey Khopkar of MNS told media, “There was news in the media for past one week that SRK is going to get Mahira Khan to India for film promotions. So he came here to
meet Raj saheb to tell that Mahira Khan is not coming to India for any kind of film promotion and he will also not cast any Pakistani artistes in future”.
Thackeray also confirmed the news and stated, “He (Shah Rukh) had come to inform me that rumours about Mahira Khan promoting Raees are false. He specifically came to
clarify Mahira will not be a part of the promotions in India”. Raees is scheduled to be released on January 25, 2017.
